neon ♥ love

A day too late to label this as a Valentine's Day makeup look, but I doubt anyone would actually wear this out for Valentine's Day. Lately I've been super inspired by some of the crazy makeup that Sugarpill features, and Dominique's work as well. When I finished my eye makeup, the colors reminded me of those bright neon signs and they're kinda romantic? I can't get over how stoic I look in these pictures, though. I swear I try to smile, but I end up looking like a doofus so I don't.

I tried false lashes for the first time with this makeup look. Vennesa got them for me - not as a gift, just that we were shopping at Target and she got groceries and I only got these eyelashes and an avocado so she paid for my things. I would have posted some close-ups but alas, my application was so sloppy and overall, terrible. How do some people do this on a daily basis? More importantly, HOW DO THEY DO IT IN ONE FELL SWOOP? Also sorry for the triple eyelid, it was just not cooperating with me today.

Slowburn is one of my favorite shades in the Urban Decay Electric palette - review on that will be coming up soon! Anyway, it's a bright neon orange in pan, but it comes off with a coral tone when swatched and I think it's super pretty - so of course it's the first one I want to use!

Can we just stop for a moment and admire my eyelashes? THEY NEVER TURN OUT THIS WAY AND I'M LOVING THEM but it's just too bad they probably won't be like this for a loooong while.

I forgot what I used for this eye look though, besides slowburn near the center of the lid and the Naked 2 Basics palette on some other parts. Heck I even forgot if I used foundation on this day - I need to start writing this stuff down, haha. The lipstick is YSL Peach Passion, though! :)

everyday makeup

Why is it that I can get a great in a messy bun when I'm at home after work when I don't care about how my hair looks. And when I actually do care and attempt a messy bun, all that ends up happening is a tennis ball-sized lump and a flop of hair to the side. It's a legitimate first world problem.

The makeup for my face doesn't tend to change often - besides eyeshadows, eyeliners, and blushes, I only have one or two of each type of product and they work well for me. I never really understood why some people need 5+ foundations... maybe it's something I'll find out later down the road, and then wonder how I lived with anything less than that. Anyway, here's a rundown of my daily face...
