makeup | coppery blue + my first time using falsies!

blue and copper eye makeup

ardell 110 lashes

I tried false lashes for the first time with this makeup look. Vennesa got them for me - not as a gift, just that we were shopping at Target and she got groceries and I only got these eyelashes and an avocado so she paid for my things. I would have posted some close-ups but alas, my application was so sloppy and overall, terrible. How do some people do this on a daily basis? More importantly, HOW DO THEY DO IT IN ONE FELL SWOOP? Also sorry for the triple eyelid, it was just not cooperating with me today.

If you're interested, I used these for the eyes:
I'm so sorry that I used so many palettes LOL I know not everyone is as palette-crazy as I am. Just keep in mind that there are other color options out there too, if you don't have the same particular eyeshadow. I'll try to do a few makeup looks in the future with just one palette.

And these for everything else on my face:

....Ok, here's a close-up of my horrendously failed false lashes. But it's alright, right? Probably not everyone can get it right on the first try. Perhaps this can be a gentle reminder that if you wish to try false lashes, they probably won't go on right the first time. Or maybe everyone else is good at falsies for the first time and I'm the odd one out :P

  4. Gorgeous makeup becky!!! I think the lashes look good!! I've only worn them twice, the first time a friend put them on for me and they looked great. The second time I did it myself and I made a huge mess with the glue LOL! And I couldn't get the corners to stay down haha

  5. I'm in love with the combination of shades you used for your eye makeup! Who knew nude to blue would look so amazing like that? I'm definitely gonna try this on myself. I wonder if I'll need to use half a dozen different palettes like you did though. :P

And you're not alone with the falsies; I've only used them twice (for two looks I did specifically for the blog) and they were more or less failures too. They're uncomfortable and make my eyelids feel droopy. Yours actually look pretty decent. At least the falsies you used look more natural. :)

  6. gorgeous eye makeup.

as for falsies, i can never do it. i feel weird, almost like i always have the tendency to rip them out thinking that something's stuck in/on my eye. hahaha!

  7. Every time I see your eyebrows, I cry on the inside. Truth.
I tried messing around with falsies once, but they were awful on me because the length was too long, and it made me look like Nicki Minaj whenever she has crazy long lashes on....i.e, crazy/terrifying. I might give individual lashes a try though, since they're easier to control and seem less intimidating for beginners.

Also, I can't even with that smokey wing *-*

  11. LOL oh man I made a hot mess with that glue. It gets EVERYWHERE and I don't understand how some people do it with such ease. If you look closer, I couldn't get my corners to stay down either :P

  12. Ahhhah absolutely not, I'm just a little bit palette crazy :P I'd love to see how you wear it!

I did a little bit of research before getting them and found that those were the most natural looking ones out of all the Ardell lashes. I guess it just takes some getting used to - I remember when I first wore mascara, my eyelids felt droopy and now I feel like a piece of me is missing when my eyelashes are bare.

  13. Thank you!

Haha oh dear~ I do agree that peeling falsies off is such a satisfying feeling though!

  14. Haha, thank you~ Took years to get them like that though, I remember when I used to use shadow for eyebrows and I went HAM on dat because I liked the bushy brow look.

YO I actually love the crazy long false lashes look haha! For me individual lashes are the more intimidating ones cause I'm just like.... how long are these gonna take me to put on/rip off?

  15. Thank you, hehe :) I did a bit of research before getting them, Ardell 110s are the most natural looking ones out of their selection!

  16. These lashes look amazing on you! I will definitely pick these up if I am ever bold enough to wear them to a fancy event. I tried falsies on one time, and I swear my vision was obstructed. I honestly don't think you failed at applying them as they look great. Your makeup is so flawless (eyeshadow, foundation, everything!) I am so jealous at how clear and smooth your skin looks as well!

  17. I think falsies are definitely something that needs practice! The Ardell 110 lashes are the most natural ones I saw (plus lots of other people say those are one of the most natural looking+affordable ones), so that's why I decided to go with those. I'm kinda afraid to try them again LOL though I really like how they look on a lot of people. The makeup took years to learn haha, everyone has to start somewhere!
